Third burglary in a month for Charity Christians In Action!
C.I.A is a partner organisation working alongside the Brierley Hill Project to support individuals and families in real need. They donate furniture and white goods, collecting and delivering these items free of charge or for a nominal donation.
This amazing project is now under threat of going under due to a spate of burglaries they have suffered at their premises over the past month.
Steve who works incredibly hard collecting and delivering goods to those in need are disheartened yet determined to continue in this much needed work. Last year the Charity was offered the use of a unit by a retired businessman Bruce Harris, a member of Kinver Methodist Church. This was really encouraging and was a real sign of the Lord’s provision, enabled the Charity to increase its ability to really provide for those in need.
Over the past month they have had: a lawn mower, four bikes, six washing machines, five fridge freezers, microwaves, three cookers, electrical motors, clothes, and donations for Foodbank stolen.
The knock on effect is not only on their stock of items, this can be built up again over time, the real issues are around the security of the building, the cost of repairs and the money which has been needed to deal with the fall out of being repeatedly burgled. One of the vans has been written off due to the extent of the damage done to it.
The negative impact is now being felt with the charity at real risk of shutting down, unable to cover the rent and diesel for the van.
The trustee’s of the charity and Steve himself would ask you to pray for the project. For protection of the property and them as they travel around in the van. Pray for justice, that those involved in the burglary would either be caught or have a revelation and be convicted in their hearts about steeling from the poor.
Finally if you feel you might be able to help financially in the short term with bills etc any donations would be most welcome.
