Hello everyone, hope you are keeping well?. As you maybe away I’m now (at the point of writing this) in my third week of my gap year with the programme called first serve, if you want more information about that you can find it on my previous article from December. This article is just going a to be a brief catch up as to what I have been up to over the past couple of weeks. If you want more information as you what I am up to please follow my blog, where I am hoping to post often.

I’m currently on part one of the year out programme which takes place at Tilsley (Bible) College in Motherwell few miles outside of Glasgow. And so far the experience has been great I’ve got to know the other two people on the year out quiet well, as well as the many other students at the college. The college is different from how I expected there are people of various ages, from different countries and speaking many languages. And it has been great speaking to different students and staff at the college finding out how they came to be at the college and what God is doing with them next in their lives.
In the recent weeks we have covered a number of topics in our lessons (but as first servers we are just joining the first year students for a limited time, so they had already started some of these topics) which have included: Wisdom Literature, The Early Church, Reaching Our Communities and just this week we have started Intercultural Studies.
However last week at the college was slightly different as it was an evangelism based week where we ran various church services, leading devotions, outreach events and even recorded a podcast. Although most of these activities were restricted to zoom I was able to help out at a few in person kids groups which we ran for the kids of some of the families at the Bible college. The week was great fun as well as challenging.
We also had quite a bit of snow last week as well which was a lot of fun. And with in the college we also did a boys vs girls come dine with me competitions but if you want out more about that and who won you can check out my latest blog.
The only prayer request that I have currently is for First Serve to be able to find an international missions placement for us to go to after Easter as with current restrictions they are finding it difficult to find one.
And thanks again for taking your time to read my article and checking up on what I am doing. Having support from church means a lot.
