As you may know a group from ACC are about to embark on a trip to South Korea. I believe this will be key to what God wants to do globally, for Korea and for the UK. Especially with regards to an upcoming generation, and most probably a generation not yet born yet. As this impacts all of us in ways we don’t even understand, I really sense it’s important for us all be involved in this and ‘get behind it’
God is already making connections, and my hope for this trip is that many more important connections are made. We have recently been hearing from a Korean pastor here in England about his testimony and hopes.
At a time when both the rising generation in both England and Korea are forgetting their roots and becoming more materialistic. With so many things that supposedly fulfil our lives or give us never ending things to aim for, we are seeing a generation who have no time or need for God. A generation who may not have even known God or heard the Gospel of the Good news.
The World Prayer Centre posted the following;
United Prayer Rising in South Korea
“We will gather. We will pray.
We will see change in our regions and our nations.
This is an UPRISING.”
The youth of today is under attack! Just by simply looking around, we can already see that so many issues are keeping them from stepping into their destiny as individuals and as a generation—abortion, child trafficking, sexual violence on children, child labour, teenage suicide, etc.
The need to come together and pray as one against all the giants of this generation is stirring! The spirit of Elijah cries out, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord!” We, the church, will summon and prepare the youth of our world! We will gather a generation to seek His face, for such a time as this. We will invite them to get connected to one another and to be released into their destiny for their generation and the generations to come. We will gather them for an UPRISING!
UPRISING will call forth and engage an emerging generation, tens of thousands from every nation, to challenge and empower them to fulfill their destiny as catalysts for Christ’s Kingdom. It will be a springboard for new youth movements, new youth ministries etc.
The collaboration developed, the unity forged, and the streams synergized will bring a connected, global generation into a focused destiny. And in light of the gathering in 2016 in Seoul, the synergy will potentially break the spirit of division in North and South Korea.
We expect this gathering will stir the youth to seize their destinies to bring Jesus Christ to their nations. Just one, God-ordained moment in this event will change their lives forever, and our world will never be the same!
Psalm 24 says that there will be a generation who’s DNA is to seek His face.
So may we join with them in prayer that this may be the answer to this generations condition, that they may be the ones who will begin to once again seek His face.
This is a key trip, for them, for ACC, for this nation, and the nation of Korea. Especially regarding the upcoming generation, we all have children, grandchildren, babies/grandchildren to be, nieces/nephews. People we care about, etc. So it affects us all. So we really feel it’s important to stand with them in prayer.
So here are some ideas we can pray for:-
HEALTH
Against any sickness. Now, while travelling, and while they are there. Against tummy bugs. Any existing conditions to be controlled. Enough sleep. Against dehydration.
PROTECTION
From all manners of things, sickness, delay, injury, fatigue, loss, fear, distraction, disruption, despair, disunity, theft. Let’s pray against them being disheartened by others, either by things said or done. Lets really encourage them now and afterwards , that we would be careful what we say. Let our words be edifying. Let’s pray everything’s goes smoothly. And that they have an amazing time.
RELATIONSHIPS
That relationships, between our team, other teams, families, friends. Etc will not be fraught. Against lies and division. The enemy likes to distract and tire us out by causing upset. Let’s pray that peace, grace and love reign. For calm, and patience and unity. That their eyes will be on Jesus the whole time.
FAMILY
That God will keep their families and friends safe and healthy, so they can go in peace and know God has everything in hand.
TRAVEL
For flights, flight connections, transport to and from airports, to the venue etc will be smooth, without problems. That everyone will have necessary documents, paperwork, luggage, medication etc needed. That luggage will not get lost, but arrive when it should. Against long flight delays, but enough time to catch next flight. Bless cars and transportation for no problems.
PRAY FOR THE TIME AT THE DE-MILITARIZED ZONE
That when they pray on the Friday outside, that conditions will be favourable. Six hours they are there, so that is a long time, outdoors. So needs to not to be too hot, humid or rainy. For
protection. For them to hear a God.
EXPECTATION
One of the words that have come out during prayer times, is to be expectant. When people go away, sometimes they bring something back. So let us be expectant that they will bring something back in the spirit for us. That they would be expectant, just as Elijah kept praying, and sending his servant to look for the cloud. Until he saw a cloud as big as a mans fist. Till he saw the beginning of the answer to prayer. May we keep persevering till we see the beginnings of the answer to prayer, then let us run with it. We need to keep asking, to keep looking, for something we cannot yet see. God is doing a new thing. Ask God for the key/to form the key that will unlock good things for this upcoming Generation.
UNITY
There is a belief that when the division between North and South Korea is defeated, it will unlock something. May we pray against the spirit of division between nations, within nations, within the church, within neighbourhoods, and especially within families. May God bring unity. Let us pray for Gods kingdom to come, for His will to be done.
HEARING GOD
For us as a church body, to support them and their families. To love them, pray for them, to be behind them in this. And prepare ourselves as a church for what God is about to do. For them to hear what God wants to say, and make connections, that they would be inspired but equally challenged. That they would pass it on, and equally inspire and challenge us. For the emerging generation, to rise up. To realise their need of God, and to put their trust in Him. For a prayer awakening.
