Background
Some years ago, Counselling Services were provided from 105 High Street, Stourbridge in The Upper Room above what is now Café 105. This service has been closed for some time. The focus of the counselling was based around “Baby Loss” which included, miscarriage, still birth, post and pre-abortion. Most clients that will be seen will be pre and post abortion. The counselling service will have a totally inclusive approach not wishing to exclude anyone, including men.
Future
A small group are looking to reopen these services. The focus of the reopening will be once again to provide counselling around “Baby Loss,” as before. In reality in today’s climate most clients will be around post abortion and miscarriage with some pre-abortion.
In order to reopen we are seeking a person to be responsible to carry out the research and development of the roadmap for reopening. This position is a paid role having funding in place for 6-8 hours a week. It is thought that the roadmap creation will take approximately 3 months with a further 3 months introducing the roadmap. Most of the time will be working from home with some time at the centre at 105
If the roadmap is adopted and the centre reopened there would be an opportunity to have further discussions with the option to extend the contract with more part time hours as the role of manager.
Following the conclusion of the roadmap it will then be decided how best to roll out the map with a view to the centre reopening.
Areas covered by the roadmap, but not exclusive.
