This Sunday we will be returning to Revelation Ch 3 v 20, the famous verse where Jesus says “Behold, I stand at the door and knock”. It is important to realise that this verse comes as part of the letter written by the risen Christ to the church in Laodicea, and it comes in the form of a rebuke.
The church had become too prosperous, too comfortable and as a result it had lost its cutting edge. Worse still, due to other priorities creeping in, the Lord found himself slowly being edged out of his rightful place at the centre to the point where he finds himself completely on the outside.
So from the outside he comes again and knocks, He wants to be let back in, he wants to renew fellowship with His people, but are they listening?
