As we reach the half way mark in our ‘Escaping the Trap’ series we’re going to consider the idols we face in our modern day western culture.
We’re going to do this in a slightly different way by interviewing a panel on the idols that they face in their day to day lives. The panel is made up of three members of our own church family, and a guest from a church community near London. These panel members don’t claim to be experts or to have all the answers, instead they will share their honest and real experiences as they seek to escape the trap.
It’s so easy for us to see idolatry as something which people had to face in ‘olden times’, with totem poles, statues and sacrifices. However, we have already seen in our series so far how many idols hide themselves in our modern day lives, luring us in with twisted truth and lies. Once we bite we’re trapped in a life that is less than what God has promised for those who are His.
