ACC Interns

An interview with Tom Unitt

Last week we shared with you about our brand new exciting trial Internship program. This year we will be taking on two young interns, Steph and Tom, in partnership with Walsall Studio School. The program called Urban Devotion is working with a number of different churches across the area and aims to equip the local church with passionate young people whilst giving the young person valuable work experience and a BTEC Level 3 qualification.

This week we catch up with Tom Unitt (aged 18) who will starting his internship next week.

Question: Who are you and how did you join our church family?

I’m Thomas Unitt & I’m 18 years old.  I joined ACC four years ago when my next door neighbour and lifelong friend Christopher Watson invited me to many clubs and eventually to a Sunday morning, I’ve attended ever since.

Question: Why have you decided to do this year out with ACC?

I have decided to do a Media course with Walsall Studio School and ACC. I will be an intern working with Media this year be it videos or other technical stuff I haven’t been told yet!

Question: What are you looking forward to most about this opportunity?

I am looking forward to doing something I really enjoy for a company and community that I am part of and love. I look forward to working with and seeing various people over the year.

Question: How do you feel you will grow because of this program?

I feel that my techniques with media and videos will grow, even after doing one for this year’s mission week! I want this growth to help me in University and wherever I end up in the coming years. Ultimately though I want my faith and love for the church family to grow as I serve this year.

Question: What can we as a church family do to support you in this year?

I’d appreciate all the support I can get to be honest! If it’s just people asking how its going and how I’m finding it! But also and most importantly prayer! I’d appreciate the church family prayer over the coming weeks as nerves have started to kick in!

Next week we will be hearing from Steph Deakin who will be half way through her first week on the program.
