September / October Kingdom Living : God and Work
In our Kingdom Living series, during September and October we will be looking at what the bible has to say about work. The ‘Christian’ perspective of work that I encountered when I came to faith in the 70’s was one where it felt as if work was seen as a necessary evil and that church activities were far more important and if you were a pastor, well you really had found God’s purpose for your life. There seemed to be a real sacred secular divide, by that I mean activities like reading the bible attending church and sharing your faith with friends were spiritual and work was a means to provide for yours and the churches spiritual ministry. How far from the truth could I have been? In this series we will explore God’s created purpose for work, look at some of the problems of work and also look at how we can faithfully live out the Gospel in our jobs.
