Theology of Suffering

Suffering is a brute fact of life. If we live long enough, we will suffer. If we live long enough, we will know people who face severe suffering. How do we come to terms with this as Christians? After all, is not the existence of suffering often taken as a reason to doubt God’s goodness, or even his existence? In this whole church teaching we explore what Christianity has to say to suffering; how a biblical worldview informs the way we understand suffering and how we may respond to it. In the end, our faith must be able to provide a theology of suffering, and a theology of suffering will strengthen our faith.
