On the 18th May the TLC group hosted a Barn Dance at Amblecote to raise money to help finance the transportation costs for the lorry to come over from Romania later this year.
All who attended were treated to a fantastic night of fun and frolics lead by the fantastic ‘Barn Dance Bandits’. According to their website ‘The Barn Dance Bandits are an exciting and energetic 6 piece live Ceilidh/ Barn Dance Band with Caller based in the West Midlands, … with a great repertoire of dances & songs guaranteed to have guests dancing all night long.’ Although the TLC had not previously seen the Barn Dance Bandits they had high expectations especially as one of the members was Chris Croft, who is known to many from ACC. It was through Chris that the group agreed to offer their services for this event to help raise money for Romania.
The evening was a phenomenal success with the dance floor full (if not overcrowded) from beginning to end and it was due to the amazing skills of the caller, Crazy Nic, that everyone who wanted to dance found space to do so! He was more than ably assisted throughout the night by the live band who even entertained those too tired (or old) to take part in the dances.
Every member of TLC and their families who helped prepare for the event can honestly say that it was a roaring success with over £550 raised and many people requesting dates for the next one as they left. We would also recommend ‘Crazy Nic and the Barn Dance Bandits’ for any celebration/event you may be planning and would like to take this opportunity to thank them again and pass on their details should you be interested. What a cracking night this was. such a great atmosphere and everyone without exception seemed to really enjoy the night. Thanks too to the Bandits for giving their time free! Excellent.
What a fantastic night that was! It was the second time that I’d been to one of the Bandits’ barn dances and I’d definitely go again. It was a rare and lovely chance to dance with Ed too. Must do that more often! Bring on the Bandits!
